Looks much better than it tastes.

So, I went to Roy's for a friend's birthday on Sunday. I'd been there once before, for my ex-boyfriend's dad's birthday. I thought it was pretty good that time, so I was excited about going back.
I shouldn't have gone to Roy's and ordered steak so soon after having been to Ruth's Chris.
The appetizers were delicious; we had the Wood Grilled Szechuan Spiced Baby Back Pork Ribs and the Calamari. The Calamari came in a delicious sauce. And, of course, they always start you off with some complimentary edamame.
My friend's 18-month-old niece was with us and she got a special "children's" appetizer: a cheese quesadilla with apples, grapes, carrots and celery. It was quite cute; the presentation was adorable.
Then, we ordered our food. I have to say that I was rather disappointed in my Filet Mignon with Japanese Wasabi Merlot Sauce. The sauce was okay, but it was no Ruth's Chris. We all got steaks and we all had the same basic reaction: meh.
The first time I went to Roy's, I got fish and that was good. If you go, I recommend that you try a fish dish (and not just because it rhymes, either).
On the plus side, the service was great and they brought out some birthday cake for my friend, as well as a little plate of ice cream for her niece.
But, if I were you, I'd save my money and hit up Ruth's Chris.

We love Roy's!!!! There is one not too far from our house.
That is funny you didn't like the steak because my hub (who doesn't eat fish) prefers their steak over most steak restaurants including Ruth's Chris
(I love Ruth's Chris' meat).
We also ate at a Roy's when we were on Maui, and it was not good at all. VERY disappointing. Most everything was different, and we didn't love our food our the atmosphere. So, I'm guessing they all differ a little.
